So it's my favourite time of the year. Christmas. Before you all roll your eyes at me, I'm not crazy and start listening to Christmas songs in November, I'm the type that loves shopping for gift for others and seeing their faces light up.
This year has been a tough one for me but I truely believe that I have come out so much stronger and better from it. Don't get me wrong it hasn't been all bad. I did meet the man I'm planning on spending the rest of my life with and along with that I got to meet his family, his sisters, brother, parents and of course a whole adorable collection of nephews and nieces. I never thought I would ever love another family as much as I love mine, but with his family... Well they make me feel included and loved.
I thought that I would take the time to say thank you to the whole lot of them. They helped me out of a bad place without even knowing it. They made me feel like I was part of their family and never looked down at me.
I should start with the matriarch and the glue that holds that family together, his Ma. She is incredible, loving, strong, funny, loves her kids and grand babies so fiercely, is full of wisedom and gives the best hugs. She accepted me from the word go and made me feel so loved. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your world, thank you for the incredible hugs that make me feel so safe and thank you for raising such a wonderful son.
His dad, is a man of few words, so like him I will keep this short. Thank you for been you, in your own way you love your family and even though you don't say it I see it when I come over. I hope that I get to have a relationship with your son as lasting as the one you have with his Ma.
His sisters (All 4 of you) Thank you for making me feel like I'm part of your family. I know that you are all fiercely protective of him but thank you for accepting me and liking me. You 4 are all so different but it's wonderful when you all come together for Sunday Lunches and even though you are all so different and have your own life, outside of family, it's amazing to see you all be there for each other.
His baby brother, I met you and your GF briefly but you both seem so wonderful and I can not wait to get to know you both.
The Brother in Laws, thank you for all the laughs and the teasing. Thank you for allowing me to steal your kids away and spoil them rotten.
The kids, I would be lost without you Rugrats. You are too young to understand this but on my darkest days you have been my sunshine. You lot have made me feel better more times then I can count and I can not wait to see you all grown up into incredicble humans and make a difference in your own way in this world.
To my family, thank you so much for been there for me through everything this year. Ma and Dad you have always been there with your words of wisdom, for been there to kick my butt into gear when I needed it and for been supportive when I lost my job. To my sisters, we may want to kill each other but you two have been there for me all my life, you both are my best friends and without you I would be lost. Thank you for the advice, the chats and for making sure I was okay when things didn't work out. Most importantly to you all thank you for accepting the Boyfie into the family and making him feel loved.
The last thank you, I save for him. Baby thank you for been my rock, for been there in the dark days, for dealing with my anixiety and for not once running away. Thank you for loving me fiercely, for making me believe in love, for sharing your beautiful family and for accepting my crazy one. You are my everything and without you I'm not sure where I would be. I love you.
To my readers, say thank you to your family, you only get one, love them fiercely, protect one another because at the end of the day they will always be there for you.
