I was doing a bit of thinking today - I know dangerous territory but hear me out. I was going through my Facebook feed today and there were so many articles on there about inequality of women and the awful treatment that a lot of our fellow women suffer in third world countries.
In todays day and age, why do we still face this? Why are we not good enough to get the same pay as our male counterparts? Why is it that we face so much discrimination? Why are young girls getting raped in third world countries and been told it is their fault? So many whys?!
I can happily say though that I belong to a generation that believes in standing up and saying enough is enough. That the likes of Amy Poehler and Emma Watson are standing up and saying no more, it's time to change, to make this world a better place.
I'm grateful that I live in a country where I have rights as a woman (not equal to men but better rights), where so many of my sisters can't walk to the shops or take the bus without the fear of been raped. So in that sense I'm lucky but we need to do more.
We need to make a change to make this a better place for ALL women regardless of where their live in this wonderful world. We need to stand up and say enough is enough! We need to fight for our rights and the rights of those women who can not fight and most importantly we need to fight for the generations to come.
